tile products - 15-year lifecycle study

Did you know that VCT tile, while one of the lowest budget floors to install, is also one of the most expensive floors you can specify?  Creative Materials Corporation has purchased a comprehensive study entitled "How to Make Facility Decisions Regarding Flooring."

This independent and detailed presentation shows a facilities management point-of-view and analysis of all major flooring types and systematically works through all costs over a 15 year lifecycle approach.  Ultimately, the study shows how any flooring that requires top dressing, waxing or sealing adds costs many times over the initial installation costs of the product.

Accounting for expected replacement times and necessary maintenance labor and materials a VCT floor will rise in cost to $21.31 per square foot while a porcelain tile floor shows a total cost of $10.85 per square foot over a 15 year span.  Quite a revelation and powerful ammunition for designers who are interested in not only initial costs in their design but in the real costs of the building's design elements.

Our presentation is in Microsoft PowerPoint format and includes photographs, charts and spreadsheet facts for each flooring type.  Included flooring types show carpeting, wood, terrazzo, vinyl, tile, rubber, marble and others.

This study included actually purchasing, installing and maintaining each of the flooring types in hospitals, airports, shopping malls and other commercial facilities.  This information can help owners, developers and facilities management groups to save thousands or even millions of dollars over the life spans of their buildings.  Please contact us for more information.
