Continuing Education Unit (CEU)

Continuing Education Unit (CEU)

Creative Materials proudly offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participation in professional development and lifelong learning programs. Our CEUs are accredited with both AIA and IDCEC, where continuing education is measured in Learning Units (LUs).

These courses are available to our Architect & Design partners with focused learning objectives to strengthen the competencies, knowledge, and skills in areas that are essential to good design. Providing education opportunities that help our clients design and build better communities is our objective. Simplifying the selection and supply of surface materials on commercial construction projects is our passion.

Upon completion of a course with one of our Architectural Sales Consultants, participants will receive a certificate indicating the CEU value and the LU. Three courses contribute to health, safety and welfare (HSW). Our CEUs may be recognized by professional organizations, employers, and licensing boards as evidence of ongoing professional development.

Create with Confidence TM when continuing your education.

Enhanced Safety Standards for Porcelain Tile: Transition to ANSI A326.3-2021

Enhanced Safety Standards for Porcelain Tile: Transition to ANSI A326.3-2021

About this Course

This one-hour Continuing Education Unit (CEU) course delves into the evolution of slip resistance standards for porcelain tiles, emphasizing the transition from Coefficient of Friction (COF) to the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) and Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF). Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the ANSI A326.3-2021 standard, its testing methodologies, product use classifications, and the practical implications for specifying safe and suitable flooring materials in various environments.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define and differentiate between Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) and Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) in the context of flooring slip resistance.
  2. Explain the limitations of the SCOF testing method and the advantages of adopting DCOF measurements for assessing slip resistance.
  3. Interpret the ANSI A326.3-2021 standard, including its testing procedures and product use classifications, to ensure appropriate specification of porcelain tiles in various settings.
  4. Apply knowledge of ratings and product use classifications to select suitable porcelain tiles that enhance safety and meet specific environmental requirements.
